wooden ears, the bottom is branded “John S Appleton”
John Appleton(1852-1917) was a brother of William D Appleton,
Who was a prolific weaver both starting on the South Shoal 
Lightship, 4 ½” Height to rim, 8 ½” long, 6 ½” wide
