Rare Large Round by David Ray

Large round basket with thick swing handle attatched with brass ears,
with original paper label intact. Made by Capt. David Ray (1855-1926). Ray was born into a seafaring family, ending up spending 8 years on the Cross Rip lightship , the last year as a captain and then moving on to the South Shoal Lightship retaining the role as captain from 1894-1900.
